City of Colfax – Regular Council Meeting 2/17/2020
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Gauslow at 7pm. Present were Council Members Jeff Olson, Tom Wulfekuhle, Neil Berseth, Kyle Krump, Auditor Jen Skoog, Past Auditor Susan Bowman, Ben Busch with MT Septic Systems, Damon Devillers, and Zach Hatting with Interstate Engineering. Mayor Gauslow recognized audience. The minutes of the regular January City Council meeting were reviewed; Tom Wulfekuhle made motion, seconded by Neil Berseth to approve as presented, motion carried. Financial report for January was reviewed; Neil Berseth made motion, seconded by Kyle Krump to approve financial reports, motion carried. The Bills for the month of February were reviewed; Kyle Krump made motion, seconded by Tom Wulfekuhle to approve as presented, motion carried. Old Business Since Sue Bowman is the only name on the Safety Deposit Box, she will proceed with closing the box in Wahpeton. Jen Skoog continues to work on getting bank account signers switched over, with completion expected before the next meeting. Discussion was held regarding park area modifications. Tabled for future discussion. As this time, a Water Payment box will not be mounted. Residents should continue to mail their water payments to the City PO Box. New Business The Colfax Equalization Meeting is set for April 20th at 7pm in the Colfax Community Center. Discussion was held regarding a quote from ND Sewage for pump repairs. Kyle Krump made motion to approve the $6,785 bid, seconded by Neil Berseth to approve as presented, motion carried. Ben Busch presented to the council a contract for using the lagoon for dumping septic waste for the upcoming year. The volume will be small and used for local work and when land application is not feasible. Tom Wulfekuhle made motion, seconded by Kyle Krump to approve as presented, motion carried. Damon Devillers and Zach Hatting with Interstate Engineering were in attendance to discuss various proposed city projects. Discussion was held regarding Hage Properties. Discussion was held regarding a proposed paving project. Interstate Engineering will compile various proposals for the project. Damon Devillers will follow up on the status of the electronic version of city maps and an outstanding bill. The Initial Boundary Validation Program map was reviewed by the council. Paperwork has been completed and sent to the US Census Bureau. Discussion was held regarding the upcoming elections. All necessary notifications will be posted by the deadline. There being no further business, Tom Wulfekuhle made motion, seconded by Jeff Olson to adjourn, meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm. Comments are closed.
