Special Election Notice

Please take notice, that the City Council of the City of Colfax has approved a Special Election to consider two ballot questions as follow: (1) Whether the City of Colfax should adopt the proposed Home Rule Charter, as published in the Wahpeton Daily News; and (2) Whether the City Council should enact an ordinance providing for a 2% sales, use and gross receipts tax pursuant to the proposed Home Rule Charter.
 
            The special election will be conducted at a single polling location on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025, between the hours of 7:00 o’clock a.m. and 7:00 o’clock p.m.at the Colfax Community Center at 209 Broadway Street South, Colfax, North Dakota.  Voters must be a resident of Colfax as of May 4th, 2025 (30 days preceding the special election) to cast a vote. 
 
            The proposed Home Rule Charter, the proposed Ordinance enacting a 2% Sales, Use & Gross Receipts Tax, a sample ballot, and information on absentee voting are available on the city’s website at www.colfaxnd.org
